The government-backed TAFE initiative has made 9,190 first-round offers for prospective students to undertake education and training courses, starting as soon as next month.

Class is officially back in session, so grab your satchel and sharpen your pencil, because there’s been a 59% increase in offers made to new students compared to the start of Semester 1 in 2022.

With over 15,995 applications to start TAFE SA in February of 2023, it seems like South Australians are embracing vocational training and technical education more than ever. If you haven’t received an offer yet, don’t fret, because more will be released on a weekly basis from January 13 until the application deadline of April 21.

Although the University of Adelaide, University of South Australia and Flinders University all provide an informative tertiary education, the fee-free TAFE program has become increasingly appealing for certification and career opportunities.

This year, South Australian applicants expressed increasing interest in aged, child and disability care, along with dental, nursing, management, pathology and early education.

TAFE has become a viable way to undertake hands-on education for a multitude of disciplines, from marketing to cybersecurity and hospitality.

Successful applicants will be notified via the email address which they have supplied to SATAC with confirmation of their offer, pending release. To accept the offer, it’s as simple as enrolling in your course by following the instructions emailed to you shortly after receiving your offer.

Feeling uncertain because you haven’t got anything yet? Well, you can check the progress of your TAFE SA preferences through logging in and accessing the SATAC submissions portal.

Additionally, please be advised that changing your preferences is still possible but rearranging the order after the submission deadline is not guaranteed for equal consideration/entry.

212 TAFE SA courses are currently accepting applications with available placement, which you can find via the TAFE website. TAFE Information is available by phone at 1800 882 661 (free-call) or via email from the contact details available online here. The South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre is available Monday to Friday (9pm – 5pm) by phone at (08) 8224 4000 or 1300 138 440.
