Love them or hate them, there’s no denying that oysters are a delicacy that deserve to be celebrated as such, and that’s exactly what the team at Never Never Distilling are doing with its newest event, Oyster Palooza.
The word palooza couldn’t be more fitting for this mollusc menagerie which, to put it simply, is just a weekend filled with two of our favourite things: Oysters and gin.
Held up at the Never Never Headquarters at McLaren Vale’s Chalk Hill Cellar Door, the event will span across three days to celebrate the peak of the Pacific oyster season.
All events are ticketed so guests can pick and choose one or more of the happenings across the weekend to really make the most of this special occasion.
Kicking off Friday night, Never Never invite you to Martinis, Crostinis and Caviar Bumps for an indulgent evening of local seafood from a specially curated menu paired with cocktails made from Never Never’s infamous Oyster Shell gin.
If you’re after a less formal affair and really just want to get your oyster count up, you can choose to head to the ‘Oyster Deck’ for a bottomless oyster and pinsa party. Yes, bottomless oysters.
The fun continues into Saturday and Sunday where you can lounge on the Oyster Deck while enjoying freshly shucked KI oysters and if you’re wanting more of an educational experience, an unmissable experience for gin and oyster lovers will take place with a fully-guided masterclass and tasting of Never Never’s favourite Dark Series products.
Never Never’s oyster shell gin combines Kangaroo Island oyster shells with native Austrlian botanicals to create a spirit that is a unique expression of the Australian coastline.
