Oz Asia Film Festival: The Dragon Pearl

Running Time: 93 minutes
Screening: Sun 11 September 2011 as part of Oz Asia Film Festival

Check out this Australian – Chinese production action/family film directed by Mario Andreacchio.

A beautiful Chinese-Australian co-production that will captivate audiences both young and old, bringing the West and the East together in a brilliant action and fantasy world. Young Australian Josh (Louis Corbett) sets out to visit his father (Sam Neill) on what he thinks will be a laborious holiday, tagging along on his father’s archaeological digs. Soon, however, he meets the vibrant Ling (Li Lin Jin), also tagging along to the dig with her mother (Wang Ji), and together they realise that something magical lurks beneath the dirt, an ancient puzzle waiting to be solved.

The parents refuse to listen to the warnings of their children, but as a long-forgotten gateway is opened, an ancient world is brought to life and the incredible adventure begins. Mystical spells, mysterious flutes and a mighty flying dragon come together to make The Dragon Pearl an amazing ride for the whole family.
