Time to dust off your X-Men costume! Oz Comic-Con is coming to Adelaide.
After being side-lined (give Adelaide a break!) to focus on the Melbourne Oz Comic-Con events, the company has announced that Oz Comic-Con will be right here in Adelaide.
With the dates set for 19-20, February 2022, Oz Comic-Con, a fun, inclusive event that brings together all pop culture fandoms, will be at the Adelaide Showgrounds.
The 2-day event will be a colourful, creative district filled with original and fan art, where you can interact with the creative geniuses behind your favourite comic books, graphic novels, literature, and artistic products. You’ll get to know local talent, and meet the global stars of the comic book world. There will be stages dedicated to awesome comics and art-themed content, and the Comic District will be the spot to meet your favourite artists, chat with other fans, discuss your favourite titles, check out new and rare titles on offer and learn more about comics.
There will be exhibits like Artist Alley, a space celebrating Art in pop culture, and there will be a chance to get a photograph or an autograph from celebrity guests (and you can even put in your requests now on the Oz Comic-Con website!)
For hands-on activity there will be console gaming, console gaming tournaments, as well as table-top gaming. Get amongst it and take part in Cosplay Active, perfect for you to showcase your crafting talents or perform a skit and bring along the PLAY part of cos-play! And if you’re a collectable fanatic, you better start saving your pennies now, as there will be an entire area dedicated to trading cards, pins, vintage comics and toys/ figurines.
Community will be a huge part of Oz Comic-Con, so if you’re a community leader or a fandom representative, you’ll have the opportunity to apply to host a workshop and run a panel or meet-up.
