OzHarvest is very excited to announce that their team are working hard towards the imminent start date of their 2011 program.
Their bright yellow trucks are currently being assembled and will be ready to rescue surplus food this month which would otherwise be wasted. This excess food is then distributed to local charities which would then be passed onto struggling families, youth centres and after school programs for kids.
Donors, volunteers, agencies, sponsors, champions and supporters have been waiting patiently and anxiously for food rescue to begin. With several businesses and organisations regretfully having to dispose of food, OzHarvest are ready to give it to people in need.
Whether it be yoghurt, salad, meat or bread, OzHarvests dedicated drivers and volunteers, divide foods into good sized meals for distribution.
So NOW! is the time to encourage restaurants, caterers, boardrooms, supermarkets, wholesalers, cafes and retailers to contact them and to donate their excess food to South Australians in need.
