The buzz surrounding the new Crowne Plaza Adelaide, set to grace Frome Street at the end of Autumn, has been consistently building.

Now the highest building in Adelaide standing at 138m, the hotel’s floor to ceiling windows promise unparalleled views of the city and surrounding areas.

The dining options similarly intrigue. Channelling a modern Japanese spirit, Koomo Restaurant and Bar will be Adelaide’s highest restaurant, located on Level 10 of the Frome Central Tower.

Derived from the Japanese word ‘kumo’, which translates to ‘clouds’, the restaurant’s name alludes to the stunning views of the city and the Adelaide Hills that we are to expect.

The interior is also set to reflect Japan’s rich history without being overly traditional.

With a grand island bar in the epicentre of the restaurant, the venue will fuse traditional Japanese details with art deco features.

At the helm of food is ex-InterContinental chef, Patrick Chung. The concept of the menu will focus on high quality Japanese comfort food, such as Katsu Sandos, noodle dishes including ramen and a hibachi grilled section.

The team will be sourcing native Australian ingredients to create the Japanese inspired dishes, creating a fusion cuisine between the two cultures.

With an alfresco dining area, the restaurant and bar will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Koomo will open at the end of Autumn.

Stay tuned for more details.
