The popular Paracombe Wines Hillside Winter Lunch is back and better than ever for this year’s Adelaide Hills Winter Reds Festival, but you’d better be quick because the Sunday 27 July event has already sold out. But, there are tables available to Saturday 26 July.
Perched on a scenic rise with sweeping views over the vineyard to Mount Lofty, Paracombe Wines is serving up one of the most soulful and inviting Winter Reds experiences in the Adelaide Hills.
The very exclusive ticketed event welcomes guests into a warm, linen-draped cellar door to savour hearty food, soulful tunes and exceptional wines, all paired with personal hospitality that feels more like visiting friends than attending a festival.
“Winter Reds at Paracombe is all about giving a cosy embrace of hospitality,” says Kathy Drogemuller, Owner and Co-Founder of Paracombe Wines.
“Guests arrive to a personal welcome, a complimentary glass of wine, and can settle in while taking in the stunning surrounds.”
Taking place across selected dates during the Winter Reds Festival, this experience includes a generous two-course lunch crafted to bring warmth and hearty goodness.
The menu features French-inspired Coq au Vin Blanc, a rich Hungarian Beef Goulash, and a Slow Cooked Vegetarian Lasagne layered with seasonal vegetables and served with local pear and rocket salad. Dessert includes a Lemon Curd Tart and a rustic Apple and Pear Crumble finished with fresh strawberries and double cream.
“Our dishes are flavoursome, homestyle comfort food that everyone loves to eat,” Kathy explains.
“And our wines are incredibly food friendly. We’ve created a delicious marriage of food and wine to truly tantalise the tastebuds.”

While the wines are a major drawcard, the food is just as memorable.
Guests will have the opportunity to taste and purchase from Paracombe’s cellar, with rare and aged varietals on offer including a standout 2013 Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot.
“It’s an extraordinary wine that just wows with its flavour and drinkability,” says Kathy.
“It’s a true testament to the rewards of patience and time.”
This year’s event is an exclusive glimpse into the Paracombe story. Typically open by appointment only, this is a chance to explore the property, soak in the views and enjoy the hidden charm of this family-run winery.
“We want people to leave with pure joy at discovering the magic of our special place,” Kathy shares.
“And hopefully with a few bottles of Paracombe Wines to enjoy with their own family and friends.”

One of Kathy’s favourite memories from past Winter Reds events?
“We had a marriage proposal by the fire pit in our pretty rotunda overlooking the vineyard. She said yes. It’s a moment that holds dear to our hearts.”
With Sunday, 27 July already sold out, spots are filling quickly.
“Our events always sell out,” Kathy adds. “So if you’re thinking about it, just book. You’ll be so glad you did.”
Tickets are $85 per person, including a glass of wine and a two-course lunch. Bookings are available for 12pm or 12:30pm, and dietary requirements can be accommodated with notice.
