Paracombe Wines is calling for your help to make their woof top dog!

Paracombe Wines furriest family member has been nominated for Winejobs Top Dog award!

Paracombe Wines furriest family member has been nominated for Winejobs Top Dog award, and the winery is calling on you to help him nab the pawsome title!

The award recognises working dogs within the wine industry, and Paracombe’s resident pup, Charlie, is one of those much-loved doggos.

Dogs have long held working roles in vineyards and wineries across the country and around the world, and the family pet of Paracombe founders Paul and Kathy, is no different.

The Maremma flock guardian dog has a big personality and heart, matching perfectly with his burly size. This makes him prime for his main role as chief meet and greeter of visitors to Paracombe’s cellar door.

Also overseeing the picking and pruning happenings of the vineyard, Charlie is often featured on Paracombe’s socials, making his mark as the brand ambassador.

The winning Top Dog will be featured on the front cover of Grapegrower and Winemaker Magazine, and we think Charlie’s big smiling face would make the perfect top shot!

Established back in 1992, Paracombe wines has become a staple name within the industry. From modest beginnings, the winery now ships to ten different markets around the world.

Proud of their vine to glass philosophy, Paracombe grows, bottles and ships all of its own product, with Kathy saying it’s an important part of their ecological approach to winemaking.

“We rely on the environment for our livelihood, so what we do out here is respect it, and think about the future.”

Their soils are over 1.7 billion years old and according to Kathy, it is this aspect of their land that sets Paracombe’s award-winning wines apart from the rest.

“These are some of the oldest soils in the world, so if you think about it, there are ancient mineral characteristics that influence the aroma and flavours of our wines. It’s what makes them different from those in other regions”.

At the heart of it all is a pride in what they do and a passion for bringing people together through their product.

“Wine is a connector, but it’s also about being adventurous,” says Kathy. “At the end of the day Paracombe is all about family, fun and making wines that smell and taste amazing.”

No doubt, the furriest member of the Paracombe family also deserves his own recognition, and what better way than with a vote for WineJobs Top Dog award!
