This is why the Adelaide Hills Winter Reds festival is one that speaks to our souls. It showcases the best parts of winter in South Australia, from the gorgeous crisp winter views across the vineyards and hills, to roaring fire pits, acoustic tunes, and hearty winter food and drinks.
One event that’s coming up, which looks particularly enticing, is at Paracombe Wines. With the cellar door only opening for bookings, it’s still an elusive destination for many, with plenty of South Australians having never experienced what’s on offer beyond their beautiful gardens. Paracombe Wines is hosting a stunning Leisurely Lunch experience that promises warm hospitality, a cozy atmosphere, a delicious lunch, and – of course – award winning wines. The Winter Reds festival in the Adelaide Hills is SA’s biggest winter event. With over 30 wine producers and venues coming together to celebrate the region’s famous cool-climate red wines, it provides the perfect opportunity for wineries such as Paracombe to showcase their exceptional offerings.
Taking place overlooking their scenic vineyards, Paracombe Wines cellar door allows visitors beautiful views to the Mount Lofty area, in a picturesque space to connect together with friends over some decadent wines, lunch and desert.
The event begins with a complimentary glass of wine before you settle into a hearty Winter warming two-course lunch. You’ll be able to choose from a gorgeous Lemon and Thyme infused Chicken Breast served with smashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables, a Slow Cooked Beef Curry served with fragrant rice, house-made raita, and crispy pappadums. Or, for those who want a vegetarian option, there’s a mouth-watering Spice Encrusted Roasted Pumpkin served with Mediterranean Rice.
The experience doesn’t end there (thankfully) because next up, a tasty desert menu will fall into your hands. With a choice between a Local Apple and Pear Crumble, or a Sticky Date Pudding, served with a dollop of double cream and fresh strawberries, you’ll struggle to choose one. Our top tip, is to bring a friend or a partner, and order one of each!
During all of this, you’ll also be serenaded by some soulful tunes, which will help to nurture an intimate atmosphere and soothing experience that will make you never want to leave Winter (or Paracombe Wines!). After lunch, everyone has the opportunity to hang around outside, settle down beside the fire pits with a glass of Paracombe wine, and truly relax.

Through the Winter Reds event and the month of July, they will donate 10% of all direct wine sales, including those from their cellar door and online purchases, as well as proceeds from the Winter Reds Weekend, to support the Hutt St Centre’s efforts in combating homelessness. This commitment reflects their longstanding support for Hutt Street Centre and their increased efforts to raise awareness and funds during challenging times.
