Paracombe Wines opens cellar door for exclusive spring tasting weekends with premium wines and artisan cheeses

Paracombe Wines are hosting their rare open cellar door events this October with curated wine tastings paired with artisan cheese boards over two exclusive weekends.

Paracombe Wines is set to open the doors of its cellar door for exclusive spring tastings this October on the weekends of the 19th to 20th and 26th to 27th. Normally open by appointment only, the cellar door will allow guests to sample a selection of wines paired with artisan cheese boards.

“Our cellar door is normally only open by appointment, and this is the first time we have opened the doors for two consecutive weekends for these exclusive experiences,” Kathy Drogemuller, Co-Owner of Paracombe Wines, says. She invites guests to “discover something exciting and new – a wine that is not even on bottleshop shelves or a restaurant wine list.”

Guests can choose from two tasting experiences. The Classic Tasting option, priced at $20 per person, allows guests to sample a selection of the vineyard’s signature wines. For those looking for a more refined experience, the Premium Tasting offers a chance to taste rare and limited-edition wines at $40 per person. To take things to the next level, an Artisan Cheese Board is available, which includes a variety of local and international cheeses, house-made pesto, and freshly baked focaccia, all for an additional $20 per person.

Paracombe Wines in the Adelaide Hills was established by Paul and Kathy Drogemuller in the aftermath of the 1983 Ash Wednesday bushfires. Starting from a burnt-out dairy farm, the couple launched their wine-growing venture without any prior experience in this field. Over the years, their efforts have transformed the property into a respected winery known for its ecological practices and premium wines.

The vineyard is managed with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability, employing methods that minimise ecological impact and conserve resources. These practices include an established water recycling programme, the use of solar panels, and organic-based composts and fertilisers.

Session times for these exclusive tastings at Paracombe Wines are 10:30am or 12:30pm across the weekends. Bookings essential, as spots are limited!

As Kathy Drogemuller says, this event is perfect for those who “love Paracombe wines and have never visited our cellar door before,” bringing together hospitality, charm, and high-quality wine tasting experiences that capture the essence of Paracombe Wines.
