Just in time for a spring clean out, The Pear in Alberton are hosting a ‘Parents and Bub’s Clothes Swap’ this Thursday at their usual Parents & Bub’s weekly catch up.
Attendees can bring any preloved children’s clothing to The Pear from 10am, and swap them from other preloved goodies. Any clothes that are left over will be donated to the Junction Community Centre which aims to create a welcoming, responsive, inclusive, supportive environment for many families in the community.
Recently, thrifting has risen in popularity and has always been a much more affordable and environmentally-friendly method of shopping. The Pear’s preloved clothing swap event is a fantastic way to support sustainability through the purchasing of secondhand clothing.
The Pear is a neighbourhood cafe and meeting place, and is a space at the heart of the community where you can meet your neighbours, enjoy great coffee and eat small sweet and savoury treats. The team at The Pear are committed to providing ethically and locally produced, premium quality products; having coffee that is ethically sourced, organic tea that is locally hand-blended, and organic, freshly squeezed juices and sodas that are 100% South Australian.
The Pear is more than just a cafe, hosting regular free community-driven events, conversations, workshops, get-togethers and other regular activities, services and programs that are sure to cater for everyone.
The Pear has slowly returned to running face-to-face neighbourhood program activities after moving several activities online during the Covid-19 pandemic. There are a number of events being held at The Pear carefully and in line with any current restrictions such as the Butterfly Garden Planting Day on Friday August 27, and the Knitting and Crochet Club that is held at the Pear weekly on Wednesday’s at 10am.
Head to The Pear’s Parent’s and Bub’s Clothes Swap tomorrow at 10am for a coffee and catch up with friends, while also doing some sustainable shopping that doesn’t break the bank.
