Patritti Wines was established in 1926 by Giovanni Patritti. He left his home in Italy at the ripe young age of 25 and ventured out to sea to pursue a better future, with America as the destination. But fate had other things in mind as he unexpectedly landed in Port Adelaide, South Australia of all places!
Just one year after his arrival, Giovanni was leasing vineyards in the Brighton District and producing the dry red table and fortified wines. Patritti are now premium wine producers and have been awarded the coveted five-star winery status by international wine icon, James Halliday. Not surprising in the least with over 90 years of winemaking history!
Unlike the others, Patritti’s have real roots in the region, authenticity. This is evident through Giovanni’s family and grandson being the General Manager, Directors and Winemakers to this day!
Patritti’s is the only operational winery in the Marion district and have other vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, Barossa and McLaren Vale. They do cellar door tastings, Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and winery tours by appointment. For wine club members they hold two events each year – Winter Warmers in June and our annual Christmas Party in November. Which sell out each year.
