The Red Hot Summer Tour is making a triumphant return in 2026, and this time it’s all about homegrown legends. The festival has unveiled a powerhouse line-up headlined by Paul Kelly, a songwriter whose words and melodies have shaped Australian music for generations. Joining him on stage will be Missy Higgins, The Cruel Sea, The Cat Empire, Kasey Chambers, and rising star Jess Hitchcock.
For Kelly, who has spent decades crafting songs that speak to the Australian heart, the tour is a chance to revisit the festival that has already given him and his band unforgettable memories. “The band and I have many great memories from our last Red Hot Summer tour. We’re looking forward to making some new ones!” he said.
Now 70, Kelly continues to prove why he’s one of the nation’s most enduring artists, with recent tours and the release of tracks like “Rita Wrote A Letter” reinforcing his ability to connect across generations.
Missy Higgins is set to bring her signature blend of heartfelt storytelling and soaring vocals to the stage. Fresh off the success of her latest album The Second Act and a string of sell-out performances, Higgins has cemented her place as one of Australia’s most powerful voices, weaving lyrics that cut to the core.
The Cruel Sea will serve up their distinctive blend of rock, soul and blues. After reforming to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Honeymoon Is Over, the band has reignited their spark, creating new material while still honouring the tracks that made them icons. Their set promises a mix of nostalgia and discovery, giving fans the best of both worlds.

The Cat Empire are no strangers to festival crowds, renowned for their infectious energy and globe-trotting live shows. Their latest album, Bird in Paradise, has been met with acclaim, and their appearance at the Red Hot Summer Tour is set to deliver the high-octane performances they’re famous for. Expect horns, rhythm and a whole lot of dancing.
Kasey Chambers is another festival favourite whose raw, emotive voice has captivated audiences for more than two decades. With songs that lay bare life’s triumphs and heartbreaks, Chambers continues to draw in loyal fans and new listeners alike. Her return to the Red Hot Summer Tour adds an unmistakable dose of country-folk soul.
Adding fresh spark to the line-up is Jess Hitchcock, whose collaborations with Paul Kelly have already introduced her to wider audiences. With new music to debut, Hitchcock’s set will showcase why she’s quickly becoming one of Australia’s brightest new talents.
Together, this all-star line-up offers a celebration of Australia’s musical legacy and future. With legends sharing the stage alongside rising stars, the Red Hot Summer Tour 2026 is shaping up to be one of the year’s most memorable live music events. Tickets are expected to fly, and fans are being urged to lock them in early for what will be a true showcase of Australian music at its best.
