Picnic at Paxton Wines series is back, and this time, they are letting South Australians bathe in the glorious afternoon sunshine each month this summer.

Set to be a summer of great wine, food and even greater friends, Paxton’s picnic series will take sunny afternoon entertainment to the next level, with the McLaren Vale based winery hosting a daytime party on the first Sunday of each month.

In an exciting first, Paxton Wines will also be launching a new pop-up wine bar for guests of the daytime picnic soiree, allowing picnic-goers to spend more time with friends than waiting in line to top up their wine glasses. Setting up shop in an old shipping container, the pop-up bar will find its home on Landcross Farm for the remainder of the summertime sessions.

South Australians are invited to sprawl out on Paxton’s expansive and lush green lawns, or find a shady spot underneath the wineries canopy of trees as they relax in the welcomed sunshine. Even better, the Paxton’s picnic event and cellar door are dog friendly, so your favourite furry friends won’t have to miss out on all the afternoon fun.

While Paxton’s will supply all that boozy goodness, guests will need to supply their own plastic, reusable glasses to enjoy the wineries fine tipples. Complete with a picnic rug in tow, and you’ll be ready to celebrate SA’s welcomed sizzlin’ summer.

Doors open at 10 am for the free event, letting Adelaidians find the best place to set up camp for the day. Local singer-songwriter Mason Lloyde (The Voice) will be serenading the crowds at Paxton’s January Sunday event, playing his originals from midday until 4 pm.

With all that wining, picnic-goers can also expect to do some dining, with several food trucks making an appearance across the summertime period. Guests can indulge in a wood-fired pizza from the experts at Doughballs Pizza this January and enjoy a well-deserved glass (or two) of the wineries biodynamic drops.

If pizza isn’t your thing, the Paxton Wines deli will also open its doors, allowing guests to peruse the shop brimming with local produce and create a unique picnic platter.

With summer here, there has never been a better time to taste the Paxton’s array of fine organic wines, particularly the cellar doors stunning and fresh Rosé and Late Harvest blend. Made with no nasty chemicals, South Australian’s can enjoy cold tipples of crisp wine without costing the Earth, or dare we say, guilt-free.

Come rain or shine, the Paxton Wines picnic series is expected to be one of SA’s most exciting Sunday soirees. With spots set to go quickly, visitors are encouraged to arrive as early as possible to not miss out.
