The 2010 Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival is the largest and most comprehensive yet, with four days and nights of entertainment, art, exhibitions and workshops.
The programme features the return of the writer’s element with special guest John Marsden. There will be VJ workshops, the detailed and participation based family programme ‘Little Kids Big Kids’ and Renee Geyer. Also included are numerous exhibitions, art prizes and workshops held throughout the district’s cellar doors and galleries.
The premiere work in 2010, sponsored by Festivals Australia, is Illumination of the South which will illuminate the artwork, history and famous poetry of the region onto the big screen.
“The festival committee has invested a great deal of time and energy into producing a festival programme that is eclectic, engaging and inclusive” says Fiona Luestner President of the festival committee.
The festival kicks off on Thursday 7 May with Co-Opera performing “La Boheme” at Rhymill Hall and runs through to Sunday evening.
