A brand new family-friendly lifestyle store is opening in Tanunda this weekend, that promises an emporium of all your personalised gift needs.

Bless Your Cotton Socks, is the brainchild of Emma Dutschke, who three years ago was working for her husband’s construction company and searching for a creative outlet after having their first son.

Initially starting as an online store from Emma’s dining table, sales of Bless Your Cotton’s plethora of personalised items including jumpers, toys, bottle openers, accessories and baby onesies skyrocketed during Australia’s first wave of COVID, with the small team eventually outgrowing their at-home warehouse, leading to the expansion of their very first bricks and mortar store on Tanunda’s main street, Murray St.

The first store of its kind in Australia, this dedicated personalisation store is a one-stop-shop for every gift and calendar occasion.

“If you can think of it, we can personalise it!” says store owner and founder, Emma.

As a mum of three, Emma made a conscious effort to adapt the store to be parent and child friendly, including wide aisles easily navigated by large prams and even  a dedicated kids play area in the store with Netflix and Disney+, and soft toys to play with while mums and dads are browsing the store.

“I just tried to think of what I would love in a shop as a Mum, and tried to emulate that” says Emma.

Passionate about the special feeling of receiving a personalised gift with your name or a meaningful message, Emma wanted Bless Your Cotton Socks to be a more affordable option for larger families who might be ordering numerous personalised items, as opposed to other online personalised stores that can see long wait times for items and astronomical prices.

The Tanunda store will feature an open personalisation station where customers can watch their items being made in as little as ten minutes, after choosing their own colour, style and font, on the store’s special printing machines. If the store ever gets busy and wait times become longer, Tanunda’s Murray Street boasts a number of fantastic wine bars, coffee shops and pubs to make the exciting wait for your item a little more bearable.

Working with husband Scott’s building company Dutschke Constructions, Emma and Scott collaborated on the design for the space, creating a complete custom fit out with a black timber feature wall with a logo cut out and splashes of natural greenery to break up the relaxed, monochromatic interior and timber accents.

The store’s grand opening event is kicking off from 11am this Friday, with the initial opening delayed after South Australia’s statewide lockdown putting many plans on hold. Emma is encouraging anyone who fancies a visit to the store to come down for the opening event, particularly with Father’s Day round the corner, and the store selling adorable matching personalised outfits for dads and their little ones.

Taking any special gift that one step further, even your gift box can be personalised in the store, with a dedicated team of personalisation specialists on hand.

With the store set to open an impressive seven days a week, Bless Your Cotton Socks seems to be positioned as Adelaide’s ultimate personalised gifting destination.
