Pet owners take note of the closest 24/7 emergency vet in operation near Adelaide’s CBD

Due to temporary local vet hospital closures, SASH in Adelaide CBD will be the only 24/7 emergency vet available.

Calling all pet owners in and around the Adelaide CBD! Due to the closures of local vet hospitals, there are now only limited 24/7 emergency vet services available in the CBD.

Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) is located at 99 Rundle Street, Kent Town, and is just an 8-minute drive from the city centre. They have one of Adelaide’s most comprehensive range of specialist veterinary departments including surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, neurology & neurosurgery, diagnostic imaging, and convenient 24/7 emergency & critical care.

In a Facebook post, SASH shared “Due to the temporary closure of other vet hospitals in the area, SASH Adelaide will be the only 24/7 emergency hospital in and around the Adelaide CBD. Rest assured that if your pet ever needs us, we’ll be there for you. Fortunately, SASH Adelaide 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care is well placed to service the pets of Adelaide and beyond as we have recently increased our clinical capabilities.”

With a higher demand for these 24/7 services, SASH has filled their team with emergency & critical care expert.

“We have welcomed back to Adelaide, Dr Morgan Woodforde, another Boarded Veterinarian in Emergency & Critical Care. Together with Dr Nici Kalnins, this dynamic duo make up the only two highly trained Emergency & Critical experts in the entire state of South Australia. The comprehensive team also consists of experienced emergency veterinarians, expert nurses, and friendly client service officers, 24/7, 365 days of the year.”

Outside of the CBD 24/7 or after-hours veterinary care can be hard to come by, especially after the closure of Adelaide Veterinary Emergency and Referral Centre on Anzac Highway in Kurrulta Park. For those in the Eastern Suburbs, Greencross Vet Centre at 102-104 Magill Road in Norwood, SA, 5067, offers 24/7 emergency services. They also have a 24/7 video call service available called WebVet.

If you’re in the Hills, Pawprints Emergency Vet offers 24-hour services on weekends located at 199 Main Road Blackwood and if you’re located north of the city, the Roseworthy Veterinary Hospital offers 24/7 emergency enquiries and services.

It’s best to check with your local veterinary clinic if they have an after-hours service available.
