It’s not very often that you can enter a café and feel like you’re in a nursery rhyme. Yet. On Hindley Street, as you pass through twisted iron gates, intertwined with vines, you can find yourself in a brightly lit dining hollow.
Peter Rabbit, with a ceiling overflowing with golden trailing plants, is home to a roaring fire and many a guest looking for a good cup of coffee and a little bit of magic.
Now, Peter Rabbit’s next chapter in its storybook includes a newly upgraded function space.

The new garden function space now includes an undercover area, catering up to 30 seated or 50 standing guests for day-time functions.
Under the cover of night, the space can now welcome 100 guests for exclusive venue hire functions – growing from the previous 60 guests the venue could cater for.
“From bumps to birthdays, bachelors to bridal couples, Peter Rabbit is now an all day and night function space that can host beautiful events in our lush garden and cafe every day of the year – rain, hail or shine,” says Kristina Guehrer, Peter Rabbit’s Functions & Events Manager.
“We’ve recently seen a lot of people looking for a more intimate space to celebrate some special milestones in life and not have the hassle of cleaning up afterwards.
“Baby showers, Hen’s Days and 30th and 40th birthday parties seem to be looking for something a little more premium than the party pies and chips and our 2-course shared lunch and drinks packages or cocktails and canapes offering have been really popular with customers.”

What’s more, Peter Rabbit’s funky little green caravan has been converted into a cocktail and gin bar for events, servicing day-time and night-time functions.
“Our caravan conversion and extension of our outdoor undercover space really is a game changer for us,” says Jack Nelligan, owner of Peter Rabbit.
“It is the first time we’ll be able to offer fun cocktails and canapes or sit down shared feast events during the day without disturbing our popular breakfast and lunch trade from 7am-3pm on weekdays and from 8am on weekends.
“We’re also really excited to open up the other side of the ‘little green van’ into our garden to be a funky cocktail and gin bar for those guests who want something a little special at their celebration.”

Peter Rabbit’s seasonal menu is flavoursome and rich with colour, featuring 6-hour beef brisket, sweet potato skordalia, tempura eggplant, smashed kipfler potatoes, fried brussel sprouts and heirloom tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella.
A 2-hour day-time feast starts at $90 per person, serving two shared mains, sides, and unlimited beer and wine.
Think cocktails and canapes, epic grazing tables, and shared lunch or dinner feasts… all within reach and seasonally curated. It doesn’t get much more magical than that.
