Peter Sagan To Return To Tour Down Under In 2019

It will be the fourth time the cycling great has taken to the start line in South Australia.

Following his Green Jersey win at the Tour de France, Peter Sagan will again take to the start line in the 2019 Santos Tour Down Under.

The three time UCI World Road Champion is the first big name announced for the 2019 race, which runs January 10-20.

It will be the fourth time the cyclist has ridden the Tour Down Under, and Sagan said he’s looking forward to returning to the South Australian race.

“This race holds a special place in my heart as it was my first race as neo pro in 2010,” said Sagan.

“This iconic Australian race is the perfect start to the UCI World Tour season. It has it all, a challenging course, warm weather and the passionate fans that cheer for us day in day out. We are always thankful for the fans.”

“This year at the race saw me take honours on the People’s Choice Classic and the overall win on Stage 4 in some tough conditions. The changes to the 2019 course will be exciting and the finale at Willunga Hill will be a spectacle for sure.”
