Amy Bodossian took to the stage and owned the space at Saldechin. Her performance is deeply personal, filled with emotion, rich in wit and delivered by a consummate professional. Her performance combines poetry, delivered to musical accompaniment, in a lineage that goes back to the beat poets of the 1960s, along with songs encompassing ballads, blues and jazz.

She is often confronting, sometimes poignant, occasionally erotic, whilst empowering the women in the audience and illuminating the men. There is a great strength running through her performance and she is in total control.

This is a very energetic performance, totally absorbing and encompassing a wide range of material, with never a moment to catch one’s breath on this roller-coaster ride. It is a textually rich and physically concentrated evening that you will find most rewarding.
