Last Saturday 10 December, Bird in Hand‘s founders Andrew and Susie Nugent hosted an intimate dinner to launch their MAC Shiraz 2013. The launch, attended by guests including Silvia Colloca, Adelaide Crows’ Rory Sloane and Australian cricketer Shaun Tait, was held in a private marquee overlooking a sold-out crowd for Bird in Hand’s annual concert series.
This year the Adelaide-Hills winery featured Australian singer-songwriter Missy Higgins and her live band fused with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. See attached for a selection of images from the event.
The MAC Shiraz 2013 is the latest release in Bird in Hand’s Tribute Series. The MAC Shiraz was created from the 2013 vintage by selecting and blending only the finest barrels of Shiraz. Following 24 months in tightly grained French oak, individual parcels of Shiraz were selected, blended and bottled for a further 12 months. The result is 2200 individually numbered bottles of deep red Shiraz with dense aromas of ripe blackberry fruit, spice and pepper.
