Photos: Glam Has Some Fun With Leonard St.’s Latest Collection

When you get to dress up in the latest pieces from one of Australia’s hottest labels, you don’t say no!

A well known Melbourne label is the new kid on the Ebenezer Place block: Leonard St. Clothing.

Founded by Amanda McCarthy in Melbourne in 2004, Leonard St. draws inspiration from the aesthetic of London style, taking its namesake from a vibrant street in East London.

With a background in fine art and sculpture, Amanda’s original textile designs featuring owls and protea flowers, gave new breath to wearable art. Acute consideration of clean lines and silhouettes in the garments was clearly paramount in this collection.

McCarthy designs most of the prints by hand – she is a lover of prints and colour, and uses only beautiful fabrics in her dedication to create unique pieces which will endure years of love and wear.

High profile fans of Leonard St. include Katy Perry and Florence Welch, Clare Bowditch, Saskwatch and Ella Hooper.

Well Glam’s very own Sophie Armstrong, the creative behind the blog The Moon and The Mirror and an advocate of theatrical fashion and lifestyle in Adelaide, got to have a play with the collection.

The collection lends itself to the culture of Adelaide women; women inspired by art and literature with an edge of eclecticism to their style. You can see the entire shoot here but have a look at some of the glamorous shots below.
