The coveted fig picking season has kicked off early, and thanks to a bumper first crop, you’re invited to head up to the hills and collect your fruit directly from the source.

Willabrand Australia at Glen Ewin Estate will once again throw open their gates for visitors to pick their own figs today and tomorrow. It’s the perfect way to close out 2023, and fill your NYE table with this delicious Summer specialty.

Once the 2024 season really kicks off, you’ll be able to pick every day until early April or as the season allows but those dates haven’t been announced yet.

Willabrand Australia is an award-winning family owned business specialising in fig products, with over 12,000 tree orchards and five different fig varieties at Glen Ewin Estate.

Managed using certified organic products that maximise their fabulous flavour, this is the perfect place to enjoy a different and unique experience with picking your own.

Today and tomorrow the orchard will be opening at 8:30am, and closing at 1pm and there is no need to book. Just remember to bring something to pick your fruit into!

And the price? It’s just $10 per kilo.

It’s recommended that all visitors wear enclosed walking shoes, sunscreen, bring water to stay hydrated, and wear long sleeves while picking as the sap and leaves may irritate sensitive skin.

Once the December picking dates are over, you can also look forward to coming back in 2024 when the famous Glen Ewin Estate Figbar opens for a drink, featuring their signature fig gin and cocktails from sister company Pot & Still.

The Gatehouse kitchen is currently closed until further notice while they make exciting changes to the restaurant, which will continue into 2024. Their talented head chef @jasontheng and his team will continue to provide delicious light meals and food for small events, picnics and of course catering for our weddings and larger events.

The Gatehouse Bar will be open upstairs from the 12th of January, offering casual food options, wine and gin tastings.

Picnics will still be available to purchase throughout the summer months. Glen Ewin will also continue catering for small private events such as birthdays and corporate events.
