One of the region’s biggest events, the O’Dea Electrical Clare Easter Races, held on Saturday April 15, is
set to impress every racegoer in search of quality entertainment, food, wine, racing and atmosphere.
The Easter long-weekend country racing carnival is a popular event, which will also boost State tourist
numbers as an expected 4,000 visitors flock to the valley for a taste of the best of Clare.
“It’s a great time for people of all ages to spend the long weekend in the stunning Clare Valley and soak
up all the region has to offer,” said Gerald Mulligan, Clare Racing Club Chairman.
“Victors can attend a quality day at the races on Saturday, followed by top-notch food and beautiful
wineries on Sunday before making the trip back home on Monday.”
Tickets start from $20, with lots on offer including live entertainment for all race goers and plenty of
local food and wine to purchase on the day.
The newest addition for racegoers is the charming Pimm’s zone for all general admission ticket holders
and will feature freshly poured Pimm’s, offering a relaxed garden party atmosphere.
Fashion will once again take centre stage at the Easter Saturday event – with Clare hosting a Fashion at
The Races qualifying final, presented by special guest, Belinda Sloane.
Sponsored by Taylors Wine, the Clare leg of the state-wide style search promises to attract fashionistas
in chic autumn outfits from far and wide. The winning look will take home a $1000 cash prize as well as a
spot in the running to win a $4000 BNKR shopping spree, a VIP experience at the Balaklava Cup, and an
invitation to join the judging panel the following year.
Easter is a time for families to come together – and the Clare Racecourse has something to offer all ages.
A shuttle bus service will transport racegoers to the track and then back to the Taminga Hotel at the end
of the day.
