The crew at Pink Moon Saloon have already racked up plenty of praise since opening their narrow abode on Leigh Street late last year, bringing us the finer sides of beer, whiskey and wine amongst a humble yet on point combination of food offerings. But the ‘Drinkers Cabin’ will no longer be their only focus on Leigh Street.
Just down the street, a new hole in the wall just might have become Adelaide smallest bar (not that it’s ever been a competition). Pink Moon co-owners initially came to the space though a family tie and have diligently set about bringing a miniature version that focuses on the best of their food experience to the streetfront. Sandwiches, soups and salads (all the s-foods) are set to feature alongside some of the wood-oven flavours now synonymous with the main kitchen back at the Cabin. And you can also grab a tinnie or tap beer while you sit along the Leigh Street Plaza.
With Pink Moon closing now closed for lunch on all weekdays bar Friday, this redirection of focus is welcome and seems more in line with the dining style of Adelaide at present. The new location also provides a chance for any spill over from the Saloon to still find a seat down the street and enjoy more condensed Pink Moon experience while they wait for space to free up.
The Pink Moon Deli is now open at 17A Leigh St. To follow the happenings, check out the Pink Moon Facebook.
