The Adelaide Entertainment Centre will come alive with cabaret for the Flinders Foundation’s Pink, Yellow, Blue Cabaret on Saturday, October 14th.
The glamorous event will raise vital funds for cancer research and care at Flinders, where 2,500 patients are diagnosed with cancer each year and a total of 45,000 people attend appointments for cancer-related care.
Friends, family and colleagues are invited come together to enjoy a night filled with singing, dancing, dining and show-stopping entertainment galore while supporting the important cause.
The name itself carries an important meaning, with pink for breast cancer, blue for prostate cancer and yellow representing all other cancers.
Flinders Foundation events manager Mel Churchett said the event was a fun evening for a worthy cause.
“It is an event like no other; it has got a very good reputation for giving people the best gala event experience and it raises money for a very worthwhile cause being cancer research and care,” Mel said.
“Each year we assign a theme, this year being cabaret. Previously we have done a garden theme, a carnival, and before that it has been more general theming, but now we go all out. We have entertainment that suits the theme and the whole room is transformed’.
“This year is a Moulin Rouge kind of feel, so there will be lots of cabaret performances, we have got The 60 Four who are a 1960s tribute band from South Australia. Then there will be The Cast, with cabaret performances from Chloe Castledine. So, lots of dancing and hopefully some aerial performances as well.”
“We do like to give everyone the full experience, so it is not just your normal black-tie gala ball, it is an actual experience.”
The 60 Four promises hit songs, slick moves, world class four-part harmonies and youthful charm and will pack out the dance floor playing the biggest hits of the 60s.
Chloe Castledine and The Cast will close out the evening with a cabaret inspired party set inspired by the cabaret queen herself, Liza Minelli and people can also expect no shortage of roving entertainment and cabaret treats throughout the night.
There will be plenty fundraising activities happening on the night, including a live auction run by Adelaide real estate agency TOOP+TOOP, a silent auction, a cocktail bar, a wine wall and Mel said there were other fundraising activities in the pipeline.
This event in particular will support a number of cancer related projects which will be announced later in the year.
Attendees do not have to wear pink, yellow or blue, with the dress code described as ‘semi-formal with a splash of cabaret.’
