Pinnacle Foundation scholarship applications for LGBTIQ+ youth close tomorrow

The Pinnacle Foundation provides educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ Australians facing hardship.

The Pinnacle Foundation is a national charity that provides educational scholarships, mentoring and opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ Australians facing hardships.

The Pinnacle Foundation’s scholarships help LGBTIQ+ youth attain their full potential by helping them overcome challenges arising from their identity.

The scholarships help LGBTIQ+ young Australians by assisting them with funds to help them study full-time education at public institutions of higher education in Australia.

Applications for 2021 Pinnacle Foundation scholarships close at 5pm Tuesday 15 September.

There is a range of scholarships available for first-year university students, returning university students and scholarships granted on a multi-year basis.

To be eligible for a Pinnacle Foundation scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Identify as a member of the LGBTIQ+ community.
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Aged between 17 and 27.
  • Have achieved good or reasonable scholastic results given your circumstances.
  • Undertaking full-time studies.

Pinnacle Scholarships awarded to students in their first year of study are valued at up to $7,000.

As with many young Australians, there is increased vulnerability for young LGBTIQ+ groups due to the economic impacts and social isolation faced with COVID-19.

You can help show your support for the Pinnacle Foundation via donations and by attending their fundraising events.

Your support helps increases the ability for the foundation to offer more scholarships for more vulnerable LGBTIQ+ young people.

This Tuesday 15 September, The Pinnacle Foundation is hosting screening of the movie Tenet at the Capri Theatre in Goodwood.

Doors will open at 5:45pm with the film commencing at 6:30pm.

This November, there will be a Pinnacle Foundation networking event. Guests will hear from current Pinnacle scholars in South Australia, the latest news about the foundation, and a chance to network within the community.
