Pizzafino has opened at Littlehampton serving up traditional Italian cuisine

Pizzafino has opened its doors in Little Hampton serving up traditional Italian dishes right from the heart with a focus on SA produce.

Pizzafino has opened its doors in Littlehampton serving up traditional Italian cuisine right from the heart.

The family owned and operated pizza and wine bar has been under construction for some time, before finally opening for trade this week.

The new restaurant is brought to you by husband and wife duo Michael and Karlyn Jackson. The space was once home to Chinese restaurant Oriental Garnish. When Michael and Karlyn took over the space, they brought a whole new feel.

“It was just a shell of a space before,” Michael said.

“We’ve completely revamped the space over a yearlong renovation.

“We wanted to pay homage to the age of the building which is 120 years old. We have retained that heritage feel on the outside but have still given it that modern feel inside.”

The new space is blue and gold in its interior with a stretched bar greeting customers into the space. The timber floor brings warmth to the gorgeous restaurant which is backed up with a newly built woodfired pizza oven.

With a focus in South Australian produce, Pizzafino offers a menu of pizza, pasta, risotto and more.

The pizza menu includes schiacciata which has a focaccia-like base with minimal toppings. Customers can also enjoy classic pizzas including casalingo salami, and pork sausage with capsicum, as well as vegetarian options such as mushrooms with olives, and house grilled eggplant.

The pasta menu features spaghetti with SA king prawns and mussels as well as orecchiette with lamb ragu and olives. The family friendly space has meals for the kids too with schnitzels, pasta and pizza options.

There’s also a dessert menu for those who love a sweet treat with pannacotta or lemon sorbet to enjoy.

“We wanted to bring a little bit of the city to the hills,” Michael said.

“There’s lots of pubs and wineries here but we wanted something more restaurant focused.

Pizzafino also has a focus on pouring South Australian wine beer and spirits to all who love a cheeky drink with 100% SA labels. Michael said the drinks list is fluid to change so people can always try something new when they pop in.

“We’re not doing two sittings,” Michael said.

“We want people to spend time and not be rushed in and rushed out.

“They can have a great time and enjoy the new space and delicious food.”
