Plan your next weekend escape to this off-grid, eco-friendly oasis in the stunning Barossa Ranges

Unwind at this stunning Barossa Ranges getaway on the ridge of an open valley. Immerse yourself in nature and enjoy a sustainable, off grid experience.

Here at Glam Adelaide, we’re always on the hunt for South Australia’s most magical getaway locations and we’ve discovered an eco-friendly, off grid sanctuary surrounded by nature in the majestic Barossa Ranges.

Introducing Kaiser Ridge – eco stay, an off grid property set upon the ridge of Flaxman Valley in the Barossa. Comprised of three self-contained tiny houses surrounded by ancient gums, open grasslands, yuccas and native wildlife, this bushland haven was created for guests seeking a nature based experience with environmental sustainability and sensibility in mind, without compromising on comfort.

Located in the picturesque Barossa Ranges just 12 minutes from Tanunda, Kaiser Ridge offers 80 acres of natural bush to explore and enjoy, promising tranquil walks and views to take your breath away. Surrounded by wildlife, guests are encouraged to live life in the outdoors, engage with their natural surrounds and connect with nature.

The magic of Kaiser Ridge begins even before you arrive at the property. The peaceful dirt road twists and turns through the hills with ancient gum trees arching above. The further you go, the more beautiful and active the scenery becomes, with wildlife like kangaroos grazing along the way to welcome guests.

In terms of facilities, each tiny house has its own full kitchen and bathroom, kingsize beds in the lofts, lounge space with wood fire, split system heating/cooling, outdoor deck area and outdoor fire pit. Guests are free to explore the 80 acre property while they stay at Kaiser Ridge. The energy and water supply at the eco homes are fully self-sufficient, with electricity produced by solar panels and batteries and rainwater tanks supplying the homes.

The property has been nurtured and enjoyed by owner Lincoln Grocke’s family for over fifty years. His parents, Warren and Sue, were lifelong farmers, and purchased the block in the 1970s. Whilst primarily used for sheep grazing and cropping, Lincoln has fond memories of growing up on the land, helping his dad and mustering sheep on motorbikes through the steep and unforgiving hills terrain.

After the next generation of Grocke’s developed the land to accomodate for the tiny houses, the family say that they are “so incredibly proud and excited to share our special piece of the world with others, so they can create their own magical memories too with the ones they love!”
