Plans unveiled to build breathtaking function space on Fleurieu Peninsula

Plans to turn a tired agricultural barn into a breathtaking new function space in Delamere have been submitted.

Plans to build turn an agricultural building and dwelling into a multifunctional establishment, comprising a function centre with tourist accommodation in Delamere, have been lodged and it’s already got us packing our bags.

The plan aims to completely overhaul an existing barn at 40 Yoho Road and build essential amenities such as a commercial kitchen, laundry facilities, and front-facing amenities to help cater to functions. Inside the space, visitors will be blown away by the nature that surrounds them as the look through the double-glazed doors on the barn’s front entrance.

Another key feature of the proposed development include the construction of a deck along the northern and eastern facades, with its finished floor level matching that of the existing agricultural building so guests can enjoy every angle of the property.

With a maximum capacity of 150 guests, the function centre aims to cater to various events, with a proposed limit of three functions per week. Weddings are expected to be a common occurrence at the beautiful site, set to take place in the Delamere Chapel or surrounding grounds, with receptions expected to take place just several steps away inside the function centre.

The tourist accommodation, currently known as Yoho House, quickly rose to popularity making a name for itself within the local luxury accommodation scene. The space is in a renovated farmhouse, bringing a comforting vibe to your stay. Surrounded by all things wildlife, your trip will give you the opportunity to reconnect with nature and immerse yourself in the experience.

The space is designed to accommodate short-term stays, providing convenient lodging options for event attendees. With three bedrooms proposed for the accomodation, there will be plenty of room for family, friends or evening a wedding party to relax in style.

Site redevelopment plans include regrading to incorporate parking facilities, with 48 new guest parking spaces proposed for the southeastern portion of the allotment, ensuring adequate access and convenience for visitors.

To accommodate varying event schedules, operational hours for functions are proposed between 9am and midnight, with extended hours intended to facilitate wedding ceremonies.

The property last sold in 2018, for over half a million dollars boasting 80 acres of farming and hills grazing. The site also featured a variety of fruit trees yabbies and trout who call the properties creeks home.

Local beaches are located only a short while away (20 minutes to Normanville, who says no) the crew also has a secret beach location which is shared exclusively with guests of Yoho House.

While nothing in set in stone yet, this addition will become a great asset to not only the Fleurieu Peninsula but to the whole state.
