Plant 4 Bowden Edges Closer To Finally Opening!

It’s been a long time in the planning, and the building, and the fit out and preparation… but come tomorrow Bowden’s old warehouse plant 4 is finally reopened.

In July last year, the announcement that a vibrant retail precinct would be paired with the striking residential redevelopment of Bowden was set to open in mid-2016 stuck in our memory. When you consider that’s it’s been fewer than 5 years since Bowden’s transformation as a suburb began in earnest, it’s pretty phenomenal to see what’s been achieved. And now the time has come (when the sun rises tomorrow in fact) as the first piece of the puzzle of the redeveloped Clipsal Plant Buildings is slotted in. Bowden IGA are opening their doors.

This IGA finds its home inside a former Industrial Warehouse, with IGA neighbouring cafes and restaurants soon to be added providing vibrancy (that wonderful buzz word) as well as a central hub for residents and visitors alike. Make no mistake, it’s a big moment for the continued emergence of the community around Bowden.

Do you love an exceptional view? We do! And a fantastic view of Bowden town square can be seen from inside this building, including the public barbecues and picnic facilities will be available, and a larger park area to accommodate outdoor performances and markets.

It’s not often we suggest popping into a supermarket as an event, but this opening bucks that trend.

Of course, the adjacent Plant 3 is still some way off completion with even more food traders expected to utilise that space. The ‘official’ town square opening isn’t too far off either, with October dates being talked about. We’ll definitely have more on that soon.
