Pogo Coffee Roasters Brings Distinctive, Air-Roasted Coffee To The CBD

The coffee here is a little different, using a unique air-roasting method. The end product is a perfectly roasted bean without a hint of bitterness, only strong coffee.

While we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to coffee in Adelaide, we’ll never say no to a venture that wants to serve us more delicious coffee — which is why we’re welcoming Pogo Coffee Roasters with open arms.

Owner and coffee-aficionado, Fraser, worked in digital marketing, in a role that had him interacting with a number of baristas, who each taught him a little something.

The love of coffee gradually rubbed off on him and after wrapping up as a digital marketer, he started roasting coffee himself.

After applying with Renew Adelaide, a local, not-for-profit organisation that supports new ventures by offering flexible, rent-free spaces in the CBD, Fraser launched Pogo Coffee Roasters on Ifould Street.

The coffee here is a little different, using a unique roasting method called air roasting. As the name suggests, coffee beans are roasted using hot air, which gives the roaster more control than conventional methods.

Fraser tells us the end product is a perfectly roasted bean without a hint of bitterness — only a distinct and strong taste of coffee.

His beans are sourced from locals, Southland Merchants, based in here in Adelaide, as well as Bennets from Melbourne.

Despite their perfectly roasted beans through technical means, Pogo Coffee Roasted is unpretentious and relaxed.

Every level of coffee lover is welcome here, whether you’re deeply invested in the art, love to indulge in a good brew, or just need a hot shot to kick start your day.

While coffee is the hero and focus of this new coffee joint, you can also grab brekkie and light meals. The menu features traditional dishes, like avocado on toast, and things to grab-and-go, like salads and toasted rolls.

With plenty of room to sit and really enjoy your coffee, complete with a lovely dining bench looking out onto Ifould Street for some people-watching, Pogo Coffee Roasters could be the perfect start to your day or a vibrant nook for your next catch up.

There are also tables outside, making it a dog-friendly venue, which is a huge tick in our books — and in Fraser’s, who says he’d love to see some dogs come by!

You can find Pogo Coffee Roasters at 82 Ifould St in the city, open Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm and weekends from 7am to 12pm.

Show them some love on Facebook and Instagram.
