When Adelaide’s newest Champagne Bar POP and the Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide combine, you have an event that pretty much blows your mind.
Put together by the two amazingly talented brains behind all of the PR for this year’s Festival, Gab Leonello from Little Lion Communications and Cassie Young from Be Young PR, the event was the perfect taster for what we can expect in the coming weeks.
The stunning designs of a few of the faces that we can expect to see at the Festival, starting on Thursday 22 October, were on display in the most glamorous way. Beautiful models on podiums stood draped in the work from Jaimie Sortino, Paige Rowe, TY-LR, ACLER and Liza Emanuele, just to name a few.
As the models stood, we admired, drank bubbles and ate delicious food. And then came the panel discussion. A fantastic opportunity to hear from several key players involved in the Festival this year.
First up we heard from Gab and Cassie who discussed the pleasure of combining their PR firms to work together on this project (#littlelion). It was very inspirational and there were a lot of ‘girl power’ vibes as the two spoke of their passion, drive and like minded attitude towards their chosen careers.
Following this, we heard from the amazing Mia Gambranis who is styling this year’s Ready To Wear runway show at the Published Arthouse. The first official showing of the Festival sounds like it will be a cracker as Mia described the ‘bus stop’ or ‘New York train station’ vibe that she was channeling into the show. She felt that this was a true ‘ready to wear’ scenario. Featuring casper+pearl, Simmone Standing, Lucy Giles and so many more talented South Australian designers, we can’t wait for this one!
Finally we heard from the designers themselves. There in front of us sat some of the most ridiculously talented Adelaideans… Adelaide Fashion veteran and everyone’s favourite, Liza Emanuele, Chris Kontos, the creative genius behind TY-LR, Julia Ritorto, one half of the stunning new range ACLER and Jaimie Sortino, gown maker extraordinaire. From them we heard about what we can expect at each of the shows that they are taking part in, how they went about creating their range, who else they will be seeing at the Festival and what inspires them.
With so much love and mutual respect in the room, it was inspiring and exciting to think that we have so much amazing talent here in Adelaide. It just made the anticipation for the Festival reach a fever pitch…
We are sure that we will be POPPING lots of bottles to the success of Adelaide Fashion Festival presented by Mercedes-Benz Adelaide 2015, and we can’t wait for it to start.
Keep your eye out on Glam as we cover all things #2015AFF and don’t forget to enter our amazing competition; you could win 2 tickets to 6 of the runway shows over the course of the week. Unreal!
