AdelaideCup2015Adelaide’s pop-up revolution has hit the traditional sport of kings, with one of the freshest and most exciting social venues to be launched at this year’s TattsBet Adelaide Cup at Morphettville.

The Starting Gate pop-up venue will be unveiled at the premier event on Adelaide’s racing calendar on Monday 9 March 2015 and is expected to attract hundreds of fashionistas, punters and socialites.

Mixing the style of a bygone era with race-track chic, The Starting Gate will feature multiple food, bar and event spaces including ‘Whoa Nellie’s’ where race-goers can enjoy a cocktail, ‘The Weigh In’ where gourmet food options will be on offer and the relaxed and chilled out vibe of ‘The Mounting Yard’.

Chief Executive Officer of the South Australian Jockey Club Brenton Wilkinson said The Starting Gate was the first ‘pop-up’ social venue of its kind to feature at any Australian racecourse and would be at the cutting edge of trackside entertainment.

The Starting Gate is our play on a ‘pop-up’ bar and will be an exclusive, stylish, lively and very appealing space featuring different areas and activities to cater for the many needs of our race-goers.

“It offers the complete package of food, fashion and fun and will be the place to be seen on 9 March in Adelaide.”

A key feature of The Starting Gate will be the Yellowglen Terrace – a light-filled two-storey structure that boasts an elevated viewing platform and a themed sparkling bar with garden seating. The Terrace will be hosted by Yellowglen Terrace Ambassador, Finders Keepers head designer, Kate Anderson.

Tickets to The Starting Gate on TattsBet Adelaide Cup Day are $40 per person, which includes entry to Morphettville, a cocktail upon arrival and exclusive access to The Starting Gate precinct. For more information and to book online, go to www.morphettville.com.au
