Pop Up Street Dance Workshops Hit Adelaide

The Adelaide Dance Theatre are offering funky street dance workshops for Adelaide teens, just in time for school holidays.

The Australian Dance Theatre has announced a street dance workshop for teens just in time for school holidays. Two street dance workshops will be taught by Zoë Dunwoodie and Michael Ramsay, professional dancers for Adelaide Dance Theatre, a group renowned for using a fusion of unique dance styles including street, contemporary, ballet, breaking, and gymnastics.

This a great chance for teens to get active and learn the basics of street dancing, including breaking, popping, tutting, and tumbling techniques. Floor and partner techniques will also be taught, as well as choreography for a personal dance routine.

Dancers are encouraged to bring their phone along and film their new moves, and to use the hashtag #ADTSTREETDANCESESSIONS to show Adelaide their skills.

When:
Friday 9th of October across two session times only:
10:00am – 12:00am
2:00pm – 4:00pm

Where:
Held at the Adelaide Meeting Hall, Pilgrim Lane in Adelaide CBD.

Prerequisites/recommendations for the class:
• Aimed at teens aged 13 – 17. Workshops suit participants with a minimum 1-year dance experience (including high school dance students).

What will they need to bring?
• Attire – non-restrictive dance attire, i.e. track pants or leggings, t-shirt or sports top with sneakers.
• To bring – water bottle, any medications and mobile phone (if they would like to film themselves).
