As an Adelaide native, Gelato Messina’s founder Nick Palumbo has harboured ambitions of establishing a store in his hometown for several years. In January, they took over the historic Alchemy Ironworks site, opening Gelato Messina’s first flagship store.
With over two decades of perfecting the art of making what is arguably some of the best gelato on the planet, Gelato Messina has grown from a single store in Sydney to an impressive chain of 30 stores across Australia. Now, it’s time for the brand to return to its roots in Adelaide. Consequently, the team at Bottega is excited to welcome Messina to nearby Kent Town.

The Hot Cross Bun Gelato Sandos combine Messina’s unique flavours with Bottega’s famously freshly baked hot cross buns, with two flavours to choose from:
- GIANDUIA X TRIPLE CHOC Gelato: A harmonious blend of hazelnut and chocolate, reminiscent of Nutella but with a superior taste. Bun: Featuring chocolate dough adorned with a medley of milk, white, and dark chocolate chunks.
- PISTACHIO PRALINE X ITALIAN FRUIT AND NUT BIANCO Gelato: Fior di latte gelato infused with white chocolate, pistachio fudge, and pistachio praline. Bun: A delicate blend of cranberries, sultanas, and pistachios nestled within a soft bun.
