Popular Dark Night event returns to The Kensi this August

Calling all beer lovers of South Australia—the popular Dark Knight event is back at The Kensington Hotel this August, featuring the finest dark brews of SA.

Attention beer enthusiasts of SA— the highly anticipated Dark Night event is making a triumphant return to The Kensington Hotel on Friday, August 4th, where the finest dark brews that South Australia has to offer will be on show.

For eight years running, The Kensington Hotel has been hosting this beloved annual event that celebrates the art of crafting dark ales and stouts. This year, they have carefully curated a selection of aged dark ales and stouts from some of the best and up-and-coming breweries in the region.

If you’re a fan of rich, robust flavours and velvety textures in your brews, this is the event for you. Get ready to indulge in a selection of specially chosen dark ales, including the Southwark Brewing Company Aged Stout, Ministry of Beer Milk Stout, Shapeshifter Brewing Co Hoodie Weather Oatmeal Stout, SixTwelve Brewing Coffee Porter, Big Shed Brewing Frankenbrown American Brown Ale, and Pirate Life Stout.

To complement the dark amber nectars on offer, The Kensi’s talented chefs will be preparing a delectable Steak and Guinness Pie in-house. The combination of tender steak, rich Guinness, and buttery pastry will elevate your tasting experience to new heights.

Chris Eitzen, the Managing Director of The Kensi, is thrilled to bring back the popular Dark Night event. As a passionate advocate of dark ales and stouts, he is delighted to be part of an industry that continues to thrive and experiment with his favourite style of beer. Chris shares, ‘The selection of brews on offer provides a great sample of some of South Australia’s favourite breweries, and we’re thrilled to partner with them’.

However, take note that tickets for this exclusive event are extremely limited and are expected to sell out quickly. Priced at $60, each ticket includes the opportunity to savour six different dark beers alongside a sumptuous Steak and Guinness Pie. ‘I’m looking forward to Dark Night returning this year—it’s proved to be very popular over the past eight years and continues to grow. We’re nearly sold out for this year’s event’, says Chris.
