Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange is introducing an exciting new addition to their lineup – their very own gin. The popular European-style small bar in Adelaide has been celebrated for its wide whiskey selection, but is broadening its horizons.
Named “The Readers Gin”, the new creation is set to elevate the bar’s (already) stellar variety of drinks. Alongside it, a refreshed cocktail menu will be rolled out, specially created to showcase the gin’s distinctive qualities.
Scheduled for launch just in time for World Gin Day on Saturday June 8th, “The Readers Gin” is sure to delight customers and gin lovers with its unique flavour profile.
Collaborating with Imperial Measures Distilling, “The Readers Gin” has been carefully crafted by the expertise of Bibliotheca’s talented team.
With classic botanicals like juniper, coriander seed, and angelica root as its base, the gin has a mixed spice profile. The citrus hints of dill and kaffir blend with the warmth of orris root and liquorice, which are complimented by subtle notes of white pepper and nutmeg, that come together to create “a harmonious palate progression throughout” (as said by Bibliotheca).
“The Readers Gin” captures the essence of South Australian gin culture, promising a unique drinking experience with each sip.
While Bibliotheca is known for its extensive whiskey collection of over 230 varieties from around the world (drawn from Australia, America, Scotland, Japan, France, India and beyond), its gin selection of over 40 labels is equally as impressive.

Whether enjoyed in a classic G&T, or as part of one of their signature cocktails, “The Readers Gin” promises an experience that mirrors the richness of the stories found within Bibliotheca’s book collection.
Known for their inventive and unique cocktails, each with its own story, Bibliotheca’s cocktail menu is inspired by classic movies and books. From the “Elementary cocktail” to the “Drink Me cocktail”, customers get to immerse themselves in a literary-inspired drinking experience.
As Bibliotheca Bar and Book Exchange gears up for the official launch of “The Readers Gin” , gin and Bibliotheca lovers can look forward to an incredible blend of craftsmanship in every sip; a demonstration of the expertise of their talented team. While the new gin is expected to officially launch on World Gin Day, it will be behind the bar as of this week, with their refreshed cocktail menu set to officially launch on Friday June 14th.
