Parade goes ‘Green’ in 2010:
The Port Adelaide Enfield Twilight Christmas Parade will be a climate friendly event. They have purchased Australian GreenPower to match estimated electricity use and offset emissions from audience transport to and from the event, waste, additional fuel and freight through purchasing high quality renewable energy carbon credits. 47 tonnes of CO2 emissions will be saved through investment in Gold Standard carbon credits through ‘Carbon Friendly’.
The Twilight Christmas Parade attracts over 80 participant groups and 15,000 visitors annually, most of which travel to the event by car. The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is addressing the environmental impact of the event through minimising waste and through CO2 emissions offset.
