Port Adelaide Football Celebrate 140 Years!

2010 is a special year for the Port Adelaide football community, marking 140 years of our involvement with Australia’s greatest game.

To mark this milestone the Port Adelaide AFL and SANFL clubs (the Power and the Magpies) are joining together to hold a week of celebrations.

Port Adelaide’s 140 Year celebrations this week will include:

· JUMPERS: The Power and Magpies guernseys each featuring a special joint 140 celebratory logo for our Round 10 matches (Power v Richmond at AAMI Stadium on Saturday 29 May and Glenelg v Magpies at Glenelg Oval on Sunday 30 May). The match-worn jumpers will be then auctioned online by the respective clubs

· PRE-MATCH PARADE: A pre-match on-ground parade at the Port Adelaide v Richmond AFL game of past Port Adelaide players (SANFL and AFL), plus unveiling of all the clubs’ premiership flags (or as many as we can find!) and highlights of Port Adelaide achievements on the superscreen

· POST-MATCH EVENT: A special post-match event at the Allan Scott Power Headquarters’ newly completed gymnasium at Alberton Oval. This will be a special celebration for past players and supporters featuring the presentation of past premiership teams, club legends and historic footage on audio visual screens, with food and drink on sale. Note: the initial 140 event indoors at Allan Scott Power Headquarters has sold out, with 1500 tickets purchased. Tickets are now on sale for an extended outdoor part of the event by calling 1300 GO POWER (1300 467 693) or online via the Power website

· WEBSITE COMPETITION: A ‘Magic Moments’ competition for supporters on the Power website

· MERCHANDISE: A limited run of 140 scarves, caps and polos (available to pre-order now through the Power Megastore)

· MEMORABILIA: A special limited-edition framed memorabilia piece signed by all living Premiership captains and coaches and featuring a Magpies guernsey and a Power Guernsey is being produced for purchase (available to pre-order now through the Power website)

Profits from the 140 Year celebrations will be shared by the Power and the Magpies.
