On Saturday, February 17, the City of Port Adelaide Enfield is hosting “New Found Sound,” a one-night, free live music event that will shine a spotlight on over 25 of South Australia’s most promising emerging musicians. It’s set to unfold across multiple iconic venues in Port Adelaide.
“New Found Sound” is not your average music festival. It’s a free music discovery walking trail that invites attendees to hop between nine unique locations throughout Port Adelaide.
From Archie Badenoch to the Port Adelaide Lighthouse, music lovers can expect an immersive sonic experience curated by South Australian contemporary electronic artist Loud Clouds.
“New Found Sound offers a vibrant opportunity to discover and support Adelaide’s freshest talent in the re-energised Port Adelaide precinct. It will be an exciting night showcasing our City’s thriving creative community,” City of Port Adelaide Enfield’s Lord Mayor, Claire Boan, says.
The diverse lineup promises something for every musical palate, with genres ranging from punk and soul to indie folk and psych rock. The event showcases a talented array of emerging artists, including Placement, Coldwave, Sons of Zoku, Timberwolf, Nancy Bates, Naomi Keyte, Alana Jagt, Django Rowe Trio, and many more.
The music festivities will commence at 6:00 pm and continue across all nine venues until 11:00 pm.
However, attendees are encouraged to arrive in Port Adelaide earlier in the afternoon to fully enjoy everything The Port has to offer.
The inaugural “New Found Sound” event is proudly presented by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield in collaboration with the Live Music Office and APRA AMCOS.
It is part of the Live & Local program initiative, born from the council’s Creative Port Plan. Live & Local aims to bolster live music activity in Port Adelaide while supporting local musicians, businesses, and organisations.
Prepare for an evening of musical immersion and discovery as Port Adelaide transforms into a haven for live music enthusiasts. “New Found Sound” promises to be a night to remember, celebrating the rich tapestry of South Australia’s emerging musical talent.
