The Port Festival Set To Launch With Puppets And A Special Theme

Adelaide’s Festival season begins with the launch of The Port Festival

It is that time of year. Adelaide is on the brink of ‘Festival Season’. And with that comes the exciting launch of the 2015 Port Adelaide Festival.

The Festival is Adelaide’s largest and most comprehensive arts and cultural festival outside the Adelaide Festival of Arts and the Adelaide Fringe. Along with the largest puppet festival ever to be held in South Australia, this year the Festival also coincides with celebrations for the 175th anniversary of Port Adelaide, with the Festival theme of Message in a Bottle.

The theme will be displayed in a Festival ‘Bottle’ Exhibition of which artists are invited to register to be a part of. It is open to emerging and established artists across all disciplines including paintings and photos of bottles, glass blowing, installation pieces made of bottles, ships in a bottle, painted bottles the options are endless.

Keith Preston’s Historic Punch and Judy Show will launch the Festival at a special media only event on Wednesday September 9. We will be covering the launch and if you follow the hashtag #theportfestival you can see all the latest news and information coming from the event.
