Port Lincoln is one of SA’s top tourist spots, and it’s easy to see why with its proximity to the ocean and breathtaking views.
We’ve found a newly renovated hotel that encapsulates all the best of the Port Lincoln area.
The Hotel Boston is certainly not a new pub. Built in 1929, it has been servicing the area for almost 100 years, and it has recently had a serious revamping.
The new-look, alfresco dining area is the ‘Jewel of the Hotel Boston’s crown’.
It is right on the foreshore of Boston Bay and obviously has spectacular views, and it is here that you can eat at their new casual dining establishment “the Shack.”
The Shack is a licensed Fish and Chip shop which aims to Support all local fisherman and seafood suppliers by showcasing their catch and telling their stories.
The fish and chips utilises the lesser known “Greenly Island Kawahagi,” which is an Ocean Jacket caught locally in the deep waters around Port Lincoln.
The Shack also has freshly shucked oysters, prawns, crayfish and smoked tuna.
The Shack isn’t the only recent addition to the Hotel Boston. Their new Hooked and Hunted restaurant allows patrons to taste the best of the Eyre Peninsula.
They showcase local produce which inspired the restaurant name “Hooked and Hunted,” so think fresh seafood hooked and gathered by local fisherman, and succulent meats sourced and delivered from the local farmers of Eyre Peninsula.
Some examples of the menu are red wine-infused grilled kangaroo and a daily-changing meal featuring Boston Bay Pork and Cajun Garlic Prawns.
The Hotel Boston is certainly resilient as well. After experiencing a fire in their new kitchen earlier this year, they are back and ready to go with their new fit out.
