Bring your pup to brunch day will soon be every day at Boy and Bloom.
The much-loved Port Noarlunga café––known for its exceptional menu––has announced an equally tasty menu designed specifically for dogs. It will feature puppuccinos with bacon crumble and dog breakfasts for your furry friends.
Boy and Bloom was founded Michael and Jess Morphett. The pair are––as of last week––husband and wife, and have long been parents to a male Great Dane and Bullmastiff mix named Groot, and a female rescue pup named Ziggy.
The couple opened their first café in Adelaide CBD in 2019 and their Port Noarlunga location in November. They were inspired to make a menu for dogs when their coastal customers kept bringing their pets to brunch.
“In the city, we don’t get dogs, but heaps of pups come through Port Noarlunga,” Michael says.
“We both love dogs and all animals, so we thought we’d tap into something a bit fun for us.”
The café is known for its big breakfasts, such as its brekky burger with haloumi and a hash brown, and its smashed avo with kale and mushrooms. The owners are both vegan, and Jess is both dairy and gluten intolerant, so they make primarily veggie-focused meals with the option of adding meat. They also have more lunch-like items such as sandwiches and salads, and they plan to expand their lunch offerings in the coming weeks.
Boy and Bloom serves local Dawn Patrol Coffee and have batch brew, 360, and the tricolate filter coffee.
“I’ve been a barista from the age of 19; I fell in love with coffee early on and never wanted to do anything else,” Michael says.
“I would search Adelaide for good filter coffees and it was difficult, so we made sure to have that at both of our locations.”
The Port Noarlunga café is a minimalist, relaxed spot with heaps of plants and chill coastal vibes. It’s the perfect place to bring your pup for a bite to eat and cup of coffee.
The menu for dogs is slated to become available within a month.
“We want all the dogs in Adelaide coming to us,” Michael says.
“There’s never too many pups!”
