Potty Mouth coffee and ceramics haven to open at The Consortium

Grote Street’s luxury co-working space The Consortium will see a new addition the ground floor this week, colourful coffeeshop and ceramics haven Potty Mouth.

A brand new coffee, ceramics and plant-haven will be opening this week at Grote Street’s luxury co-working space The Consortium thanks to Renew Adelaide, bringing a retail and hospitality offering to the sleek office space.

Potty Mouth, the brain child of ceramic artist Cassie Hutchinson will be open to the public from Wednesday September 1, offering incredible locally-roasted coffee, an explosion of jungle-esque greenery in the form of a selection of indoor plants, as well as hand-painted ceramics, eco-friendly candles, trinkets and and accessories.

Founder Cassie Hutchinson was previously part of Adelaide’s 9 – 5 workforce, using painting as an avenue to de-stress, when friends and family began purchasing her colourful work, delighted by her flurry of Instagram posts documenting each piece.

Now embracing her love for creativity and operating Potty Mouth full-time, Cassie and the team at The Consortium are delighted to announce their collaboration, with the intimate coffee space providing delicious South Australian, indigenous-owned Monday’s Coffee Co, as well as a zen chill-out space for The Consortium’s cohort of white-collar and creative businesses.

Offering a plush vintage couch for guests to sink into as well as a smattering of bar stools, Potty Mouth is a cosy venue with room for seven seated patrons, with a vast 80msq outdoor space currently in the works, where visitors can spill out into a spacious outdoor area to enjoy the approaching warmer weather.

Perfect for gift-shopping, Potty Mouth also offers a range of beautifully fragrant candles. Cassie noted a gap in the market for eco-friendly candles and decided to create a more sustainable alternative to soy-based candles, using Gumeracha beeswax and organic coconut oil, with each part of the candle recyclable and reusable.

Branching out into creative events, Potty Mouth will also be hosting a number of popular Paint and Sip experiences each month, where instead of painting traditional canvasses, budding artists and complete novices are invited to paint ceramic pots, making the perfect take-home gift for your collection of greenery at home.

The first Paint and Sip evening, due to take place on 25 September, will run from 7-10pm and tickets can be purchased for $100, inclusive of wine, a plant to take home, and founder and artist Cassie guiding you through the three hour session.

Tying in perfectly with the home and furniture stores found throughout Grote Street, Potty Mouth will be open for browsing and coffees from 10am – 4pm Wednesday through to Saturday.
