Powerhouse performer Em Rusciano has announced a 15-date national tour titled ‘Outgrown’, marking her return to the stage after a hiatus since her last successful ‘Rage and Rainbows’ show in 2019.
This tour, scheduled for July-August 2024, promises to be a multi-sensory exploration of resilience and self-discovery, coupled with Rusciano’s signature musical comedy extravagance.
Rusciano’s journey over the past five years has been tumultuous, as she navigated through personal challenges that tested her resilience. Reflecting on this period, she acknowledges the profound impact it had on her identity, culminating in what she describes as a “complete ego death.” Embracing her newfound understanding of herself as neuro-divergent, Rusciano is poised to deliver a show that promises both laughter and introspection.
The tour spans across multiple regional areas and major cities nationwide including South Australia on Thursday 25th July at Her Majesty’s Theatre. She’ll also be stopping in places like Toowoomba to Melbourne, bringing her unique brand of comedy to diverse communities.
“Naturally it felt like the right time to get myself back on stage. You can look forward to a multi-sensory exploration and examination of the beauty that can emerge after everything has been burned to the ground,” Rusciano says.
With elaborate costumes, novelty-sized props, and Rusciano’s trademark wit, ‘Outgrown’ promises to be an unforgettable experience for audiences.
Since her last tour, Rusciano has confronted significant revelations about her health, including ADHD, Autism, and early menopause. Despite these challenges, she has channelled her experiences into advocacy, delivering a powerful speech about neuro-divergence at the National Press Club of Australia. Through ‘Outgrown’, she continues to champion awareness and acceptance of neuro-diversity, inspiring audiences to embrace their authentic selves.
Rusciano’s achievements extend beyond the stage, with successful ventures in writing, podcasting, and social media. Her podcast ‘Emsolation’ has garnered widespread acclaim, while her best-selling book, ‘Try Hard: Tales from the Life of a Needy Overachiever’, resonated with audiences nationwide. As a social media influencer, Rusciano’s passionate fanbase reflects her ability to connect authentically with her audience, driving engagement and advocacy.
Acknowledged as one of Australia’s highest-selling comics, Rusciano’s impact extends beyond entertainment, as she continues to challenge societal norms and advocate for inclusivity. With her upcoming tour, she reaffirms her status as a national treasure, offering audiences a chance to laugh, reflect, and celebrate the resilience of the human spirit.
Tickets for ‘Outgrown’ will be available through Frontier Touring, with a Frontier Member presale commencing on Friday 19 April. General ticket sales will commence on Tuesday 23 April. For more information and tour dates, visit frontiertouring.com/emrusciano.
