Premier announces extended festive season trading hours

The State Government is giving the green light for extended trading hours over the festive season, including on Black Friday, Boxing Day and Proclamation Day.

If you were looking for a reason to get into the Christmas Spirit, this is it.

The State Government is giving the green light for extended trading hours over the festive season, including on Black Friday, Boxing Day and Proclamation Day.

Retailers across the state will be able to open until midnight on Black Friday and, between 9am and 5pm on Boxing Day and Proclamation Day.

Shops will also be able to open from 9am on Sundays between 29 November and 27 December and, trade until midnight on the 17, 18 and 23 December.

The Premier Steven Marshall said on Facebook the extended trading hours are expected to inject millions into South Australia’s retail sector.

The announcement of extended trading hours comes after last year’s extended shop trading hours saw many businesses have record sales.
