A new outdoor experience is coming to the Northern suburbs, with Premier Steven Marshall today announcing that the Hope Valley Reservoir will be opening to the public.

Scheduled for December 13th, it will be the first time people have bene given access to the Reservoir for almost 150 years.

Premier Marshall says “People will be able to enjoy a range of recreational activities including walking, cycling, adventure play and picknicking. We can’t wait to see people flock to Hope Valley and enjoy this beautiful space.”

He went on to say “This is part of our record investment in South Australia’s parks to improve facilities, increase visitation and create jobs.”

The reserve in Adelaide’s north east is among several reservoirs across South Australia opened for recreational activities like fishing, kayaking, hiking and biking since April 2019.

The State Government last year engaged with the Hope Valley community about their ideas to make best use of this open green space, and the formation of a Community Reference Group earlier this year has helped to shape the vision.
