Premier confirms SA now has no active COVID-19 cases

The most recent person to recover was a South Australian nurse who contracted the virus whilst assisting the COVID-19 effort in Victoria.

Premier Steven Marshall has confirmed South Australia now has no active COVID-19 cases.

The most recent person to recover was a South Australian nurse who contracted the virus whilst assisting the COVID-19 effort in Victoria.

Today’s update also recorded no new cases of COVID-19, as 459 people have been cleared of COVID-19. There have been four reported deaths from COVID-19. More than 386,000 tests have been undertaken.

However, a woman in her 40’s who returned from interstate tested positive to COVID-19. She was a confirmed case interstate but was cleared and not considered infectious while travelling. She is now in hotel quarantine in SA. The current result represents an old infection and will not count towards SA’s COVID-19 case numbers.

The news was announced in a press conference revealing construction on the $32.5 million expansion of of Unley High School has started, with thousands of households in Adelaide’s inner south set to be included in the school’s zone from next year.

The Premier also commented on the news the 2020 AFL Grand Final will be held in Queensland, at the Gabba.

South Australia has been confirmed as the back up venue for the game, should Queensland be impacted further by COVID-19.

The Premier stated South Australia is in discussions to host a preliminary AFL final, “maybe two.”

“We are a passionate, passionate football state,” said the Premier.
