After two years away, the apple of Adelaide’s queer eye is back as Pride March Adelaide returns for 2022.
Community-driven, Pride March Adelaide is not just an event to schedule into your calendar but a moment in time that you will forever remember.
The Pride March Adelaide is a celebration of the diversity, courage, creativity and contribution of South Australia’s LGBTIQ+ communities and their allies. Thousands of participants come together to march and demonstrate their solidarity. It’s an exciting and socially important event that promotes inclusivity and acceptance.
Pride across the country has not just become a thing in recent years, parades and marches have been a pillar in the queer community marking the importance of such activism.
Adelaide’s first queer “Proud Parade” was held in 1973 and is of great significance in our state’s proud LGBTIQ+ history. The modern Pride March Adelaide has been held yearly from 2003 to 2019 before we were temporarily interrupted by COVID-19.
The Pride Adelaide March is returning with gusto in 2022 and the city street march will be held on Saturday, 5 November.
If you would like to participate in The Pride March, there are a few details worth noting:
